BRIEF
Dirt Empire wrote, directed and produced the Dome film experience "The Ark" at Panorama 2018.
The 5K immersive VR film was projected by 12 projectors onto a 90′ diameter dome. The 40 channel speaker dome featured a live-recorded soundtrack composed by Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans. It was recorded with over 30 live musicians and mixed in full 360 ambisonic.
It premiered at the 2018 Panorama Music festival on Randalls’ Island. The Ark served as finale to an HP-sponsored and Meta-curated art and tech showcase called The Lab. The Ark was screened throughout the festival to over 40,000 attendees over the course of 3 days.

The Solution
The Ark tells the story of a interstellar space station lost in space with the last vestiges of a green inhabitable planet searching the cosmos for a new home. Commandeered by a nefarious AI, it is up to the inhabitants of the ship who have been enslaved and used as fuel for the despot's megalomania. They must take matters into their own hands and scuttle the ship onto a new planet and seed their colony once again.
